Summertime.... and the livin' is easy....

Man this blog thing is challenging!  I keep thinking 'hey I should post on my blog' then I forget or get distracted by something shiny or even RL work...

This weekend at The Copa Nite Club on the Gay Rehoboth IGBC sim, we're doing a salute to the Great White Way!  Broadway Showtunes!  Can't wait to see what kind of crowd we have.  I am expecting it to be 'fabulous'!!!  Hope to see you there from 7-10pacific time!

New Internet Radio gig!!!

Wow, it's been months since I've thought about blogging here! I guess I need to think about it more. Ok, so the reason I am thinking about it today is that I have started doing a web based Radio show on Bridge Radio FX. You can listen to me on Wednesday mornings PACIFIC time from 10am till noon. That'd be from 1-3pm Eastern (my normal time zone!) I'm spinning big band, swing and vintage jazz for those two hours and in a couple of weeks, will be broadcasting from The Copa on Saturday nights from 6-8 Pacific. Hope you can listen in! The web address is www.bridgeradiofx.com and they have a 'pop out player' available that works pretty well. I had a great time doing it today and since I didn't get instantly fired, I think they were happy with my show! IGBC is rolling along well, we've opened The Glades sim with some awesome trailers and whatnot, so come check that out too! I'm doing a crazy set at The Cove @ IGBC tonight, "Steve, Steven, Stephen, and Stevie Stevie Stevie!" All music will be by artists with the first name... yes you guessed it... Ste.... something. And I'm throwing in some last name Steves too! So we'll see how that works out! Hope you can check out my show soon!

Beachin'

So here I am on the coast of South Carolina doing some RL RnR. Have some photos from last week's IGBC Assisted Living and Retirement Village party!  Almost all of the 50 or so guests dressed up either as an old person(some really awesome avatars were present), a much hotter looking person who'd spent a fortune in SL plastic surgery (Here's looking at YOU Swallo!) or some sort of medical professional.  NURSE AEVA!  I NEED MY SPONGEBATH!  DR BOONE I NEED MY HYSTERIA TREATMENT!
Wow, yes it was loads of fun, so hopefully when I get back I can sort thru the photos I snapped and get them posted here!
Ok, back to RL and the last vacation of 2011.

Hell yeah, I'm finally here!

Wow.  My first blog post!  Decided to take the plunge today after getting myself registered on Gay-Worldnews.com. I noticed that other DJs in Second Life have their blogs posted there, so I figured what the hell and here I am! Hopefully I will be good and post something once in a while, but mostly I want to use this as my own personal little DJ blog. I think I'm going to get hooked up with the GA blog on SL soon and do the IGBC postings. IGBC for those of you who don't know, is the International Gay Beach Club @ Rehoboth Beach in Second Life. It's my home club there. I DJ there on Wednesday nights from 6-8 Pacific time. We have themes, sometimes a contest, raffles, sploders and LOADS of fun! I was lucky to start in SL when I did. I managed to get a really GREAT lot at Sleezywood Trailer park, and then my friend Connie found IGBC where we started hanging out. Jean Luc Guyot was such a great guy (and still is even off SL) he made me feel right at home, and didn't even flinch when I asked if I could try being a DJ. I had never done such a thing before, and let me tell you, my first month or two were definately 'trial and error' with emphasis on 'error'. However, with lots of help from other DJs (Shepherd, Rocket, Thick Kelly, Syriana Paine) I was able to find my own voice, and over 3 years later, I'm still at it. I love music, so it's been a real blast doing shows, wedding parties, benefits for Pride and charities. This week at IGBC we are planning on doing the "IGBC ASSISTED LIVING AND RETIREMENT VILLAGE PARTY". That's Wednesday at 6pm Pacific time. We're all aging our avatars about 60 years and the date will be 2071. Hope you can come out to see us and check out what DJ Coop will look like after her 13000th show at IGBC!
